A Global Mission for Healing, Health & Happiness
The Global Yog Alliance is proud to announce the launch of its Global Mission – “Yoga for Healing, Health & Happiness”, taking place on 24 October 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand, on the occasion of United Nations Day.
The launch marks the beginning of a global initiative dedicated to promoting yoga, preventive health, wellness and healthy living, with the vision of contributing to a healthier, happier and more harmonious world.
Why This Mission?
The world today is going through a period of significant stress and uncertainty.
Wars and conflicts, disease, mental and emotional challenges, sedentary lifestyles, social isolation and the pressures of modern life are affecting the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities across the world.
While modern healthcare has made remarkable progress in treating illness and saving lives, there is an equally important need to focus on prevention, healthy lifestyles and holistic wellbeing.
People need not only solutions when they become unwell, but also the knowledge, practices and support that can help them stay healthy and live better.
This is where yoga and holistic wellness can play an important role.
Yoga offers a holistic approach that connects the body, breath and mind and encourages awareness, balance, discipline and wellbeing. When taught and practised responsibly, yoga can become an accessible tool for supporting healthier lifestyles, managing stress and developing greater physical and mental wellbeing.
The Global Mission has been created with this larger purpose — to take the message and practice of yoga and wellness to people across the world.
Our Vision
A healthier, happier and more harmonious world where every individual has access to knowledge and practices that support physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing.
The mission seeks to connect individual wellbeing with global wellbeing, recognising that healthier individuals can contribute to healthier families, healthier communities and a healthier world.

Key Initiatives
1. Developing Quality Yoga & Wellness Teachers
One of the primary pillars of the Global Mission will be the development of quality yoga and wellness teachers.
The objective is not simply to increase the number of yoga teachers, but to develop teachers who possess the knowledge, skills, ethics and responsibility required to guide people safely and effectively.

3. Promoting Preventive Health
A central philosophy of the Global Mission is:
Prevention is better than cure, and healthy living is the foundation of lasting wellbeing.
The mission will encourage individuals and communities to become more aware of their health and develop positive habits as part of everyday life.
This includes promoting:
-
Regular physical activity
-
Healthy movement and mobility
-
Breath awareness
-
Stress management
-
Rest and relaxation
-
Mindfulness and self-awareness
-
Balanced lifestyle choices
-
Healthy daily routines
The objective is to empower people with knowledge and practical tools for healthier living.
4. Drugless & Complementary Wellness
The mission will promote responsible awareness of drugless and non-invasive wellness approaches, particularly those focused on prevention, lifestyle improvement and wellbeing.
Yoga, meditation, breathing practices, relaxation techniques and traditional wellness practices can complement appropriate healthcare and support individuals in developing healthier lifestyles.
The Global Mission will promote these approaches responsibly, recognising that yoga and wellness practices should complement appropriate medical care rather than replace necessary medical diagnosis or treatment.
5. Promoting Traditional Health Practices
India and many other cultures possess a rich heritage of traditional health and wellness knowledge.
The Global Yog Alliance will seek to preserve, promote and responsibly share traditional practices that encourage harmony between body, mind, lifestyle and environment.
The mission will work towards making relevant traditional knowledge accessible to modern communities while encouraging responsible practice, appropriate safety standards and respect for established healthcare systems.
